Let’s take a trip!
Why not do something that will impact the world in a positive way? You’ll be able to see the world, take a trip, and do a very cool project that will have lasting impacts. It’s like leaving a legacy – of good. While funds could be invested on the market, it could very well go into a Madoff-like scheme. That would be very, very lame, yet very possible. This project will cost a fraction of the sum that many people ‘invested’ in Madoff’s firm.
This project will take place in stages, so you don’t need to commit to the whole thing right away. The first trip will have a research element to it and will be a very small investment. (It will cost about as much as a package tour, but instead of just seeing, you’ll be seeing and doing. The first trip will cost around $10,000. In order to carry out the project and keep it online for 15 years is budgeted at just over $100,000) The project will start as we travel to Kathmandu in the spring to research and network. We will be there for three weeks, then return to start the next phase; prepping the needed materials, editing and producing the first online videos, gathering plumbing materials and gathering the necessary technology to allow information to quickly get the project online – as we’re doing it. After two months, we’ll return with a team of 5 people along with the materials to carryout the project.
Being a nonprofit gives us the ability to move quickly, with flexibility. We seek to do good, simply for the sake of doing good, while bringing awareness to Americans. Many different interactive video and internet elements will be used. We’ll learn, we’ll have a very memorable experience, and we will have impacted events in the world.
