Goals
The end goal for this project is to set up a logical, physical and data-driven infrastructure to stop leaky faucets from wasting water. We seek to build resources that enhance local self-reliability and sustenance. We want the project to be practical and will upload diagrams of how to fix common plumbing leaks and where to get the materials. We will see if the products exist within their country, and if not, what can be done.
It is also our goal to be respectful of the newly formed government and constitution. We seek to build alliances between all people regardless of political affiliation, religion, ethnicity or any other thing that can potential be a label. We seek to work with their officials as their own sovereign. We do not represent any government, nor do we want anything in return. We simply want to see if we can do it.
Essentially, this is a project that is seeking to do good for the sake of doing measurable, sustainable good. Because we’ve learned a bit more about how first world, or U.S. aid organizations work. See the page on philosophy for more information.
We seek to do good, not just from our point of view, but also with the host country’s input, then we’ll leave. Contrary to how other aid organizations can sometimes work (giving something for something else in return, say in foreign policy) we instead want to do a project and leave.
For the sake of transparency, we are against the corporate privatization of water. We want people to be empowered to have the resources to fix things themselves in order cut down on waste and keep the world and environment cleaner and safer for following generations.
